Top Life Science Investors Of 2013

Every year we see that few life science investors are represented on the Midas List.  We understand that it is difficult to compare IT venture capitalists with life science venture capitalists and that market dynamics are very different in the two industries.  As a result, this year we would like to recognize the top ten life science investors.  The top two made this year’s Midas List, and the next eight are in the #101-150 range of top investors.

6. Michael Carusi, Advanced Technology Ventures

Carusi joined ATV in 1998 and has since become a leading life sciences investor.  Carusi is no stranger to the Midas List, ranking #76 in 2011, and he continues to invest in some of the largest deals in the healthcare space.  Carusi was on the board of Ardian, which Medtronic scooped up for $800 million in 2011, and was one of the first investors and a board member of Plexxikon, which Daiichi Sankyo bought for $805 million.
