Eight Mass. tech companies raised $282M in February
Massachusetts tech started strong in February 2017, with two different companies hauling down $100 million-plus rounds within the first eight days of the month.
Things slowed down after that, but venture capitalists continued to focus on hot areas of the Boston economy like travel tech and 3D printing.
And the city continued to attract talent from abroad. Voysis, an Irish company that's building artificially intelligent voice technology, announced it will use part of its recent $8 million to open up a U.S. headquarters in Boston.
Here's a breakdown of the biggest tech fundings of the month:
- Fuze, a Cambridge-based maker of integrated communication software for large companies, raised $104 million in new funding led by Wellington Management Company LLP with participation from another new addition, Greenspring Associates. It's the company's second round to top $100 million in as many years. Fuze now has more than $300 million in funding to date.
